Our  Road Race Classes

 

 

MOTORCYCLE RACING CLASSES 2012

 

Please note that a detailed schedule of the rules for each class can be obtained from the Road Racing Sub Committee.   It really pays to check whether any particular bike or modification to a bike meets the rules for a Class, so check it out with the Committee before you buy the bike or make the modification.  The overriding aim of the Road Race Sub Committee is to get you on the track.  

 

 

1.      JUNIOR MOTARD   Juniors from 9 years to 15 years.    May be run in two divisions – combined races S7, S8 and S9.

 

2.      SENIOR MOTARD   450cc and 250cc classes may be combined.

 

3.      SUPERSPORT  Includes 600cc in line fours, 675cc triples and 750cc twins.   Rules as per GCR’s National Class but tyres optional.

 

4.      250cc PRODUCTION    Includes National 250cc Production Class machines and older type 250cc Production four strokes.

 

5.      MOTO 3*   Class includes 125GP machines and 250cc GP Mono machines per GCR’s

 

6.      FORMULA 3   250cc production two strokes, 400cc production four cylinders, and 650cc production twins – includes single cylinder Super Mono specials.  

 

7.      FORMULA ROAD RACE    Any road race based machine except Motards.

 

8.      HISTORICS   All Historic classes and capacities including sidecars.

 

9.      QUADS

 

 

 

Where there are fewer than 4 bikes in a Class, the Committee may move bikes to another Class.    Championship points can only be scored if there are four or more bikes in a Class.

 

*Juniors aged 14 years and over may compete in the MOTO 3 Class if they meet the requirements of GCR 15.11.0.1
