MOTOSTARS ROUND 3
Motostars are pleased to advise that the final round of the Australian Supermoto Championships (ASMC) and Australian Junior Road Racing Championship (AJRC) will take place at the Whitsunday Moto Sports Club in Proserpine, on 23/24 November.
Go-karters, bikers and car racers in the Whitsundays rejoice!
George Christensen announced in April $480,000 in funding from the Morrison Liberal National Government to light up the Whitsunday Moto Sport Club race track so that more national and even international motorsports events can be held in the Proserpine region.
The lights will enable karts and bikes to race at night which will add to the attraction of the WMSC track. Night racing will be cooler and will allow more races to be held over a weekend race meet.

The Club was awarded a grant last year, thanks to Sheryn Barr for lodging the application, for concrete works and an extension to the canteen. The concrete works are now complete and the awning is under construction. A big shout out to Steve Barr for doing a lot of the work free of charge and to Penhallurick Constructions for doing a lot of the work. The concrete works now provide a sealed and convenient access from the parking area to the amenities block, to the canteen and then into the grid area. This provides access for people with young kids, prams and kids on scooters to have a great time. The extension to the canteen will provide a covered area for the bbq which makes it easier for the volunteers to use it and it will hopefully provide additional shade and a wind break to the canteen.
Our new track sign is under construction. Our original sign was destroyed by Tropical Cyclone Debbie. The replacement sign will be used to advertise upcoming events. Artwork from Angel Signs and frame from Parky's Engineering. Thanks to Auldy for removing the old sign, and to Hacksaw and Steve for helping to erect the sign.
We have a new shed at track to house the new compressor and some safety gear. Thank you to Steve for erecting the shed and to Tracey for purchasing the compressor from P&D. Finally, thanks to Maddy for finding the snake that was trying to make the shed its new home.
The club has recently constructed two flag huts which will provide shade and protection from the weather. A big thank you to the Barr family, Chris Saunders and Penhallurick Constructions for getting the huts up and going.
